1967 Toyota LandCruiser FJ40

Overview:

This FJ40 arrived at Well Sorted slated for a engine conversion from a tired Chevy 258 six cylinder to the more modern and powerful 5.3L LS V8. As we worked through the fabrication work required to install the new V8 more and more trouble spots became evident in the paint and body. The owner made the decision to up the ante to a full frame off restoration and we shifted into restoration mode. After sandblasting the body and repairing all damaged and rusted areas we laid down a fresh coat of Porsche Slate Gray with Toyota Lilly White trim to give this FJ40 a unique and classy look. Complimenting the upgrades under the hood is a full set of interior enhancements including custom bucket seats, center console, modern gauges, tilting steering column, and restored heater box. With the modern V8, fully rebuilt drivetrain, and ergonomic improvements this FJ40 drives as good as it looks.

I highly recommend Well Sorted for any and all types of restoration or restomod. When I first approached them about working on my 67 FJ40 I was a little apprehensive about shipping my cruiser halfway across the country. But Doug made the experience painless by keeping me routinely informed on progress, mainly through photos. He was very good about discussing any issues or plan changes, by email and phone both. I love my cruiser and couldn’t be happier with my experience with them. - -Dave
